  MILITARY DRAFT COMING BACK IN 2005 - STOP BUSH NOW

  for those of you that have not heard yet there are two bills pending in congress to bring back the military draft for all 18 - 26 year olds.

  for the website see www.congress.org/congressorg/issues/alert/?alertid=583400/&content_dir=ua_congressorg .twin bills s 89 and hr 163 are now being quitely pushed through so that it could become law as early as spring 2005. the bush administrations illegal and unconstitutional war in iraq has cost hundreds of billions of dollars and hundreds of american lives and they mean to keep our troops their indefinitely in the foreseeable future.

  stop this madness now before it is too late.

  cbew, I understand that you feel our founding fathers had certain ideals in mind when writing the constitution... I belive that is correct. HOWEVER, you must consider that at that time, the biggest threat they had was of ships coming over to attack our country... The DID NOT have or probably couldn't have conceived of the threat of someone flying plane(s) into office buildings.... THEREFORE my point is this.... in the day and age that we live in, we have to be everchanging as threats become ever changing. I want my privacy just as the next person does, but I think that for the overall safety of the general public, the government should have some safety precautions put in place.

  I can't agree with that statement. Saddam Huessin was a weapon of mass destruction, and regardless of whether or not he actually had "weapons" or not. As you can see that man had more mental and verbal weapons than any physical weapons can ever be found, just by the continued support of Iraqi Militants.... This goes ALOT deeper than "weapons of mass destruction"....

  You know you are right about that, but think about this.... IF you had a terrorist living next door to you making home made pipebombs, would you want the gov't to sit back and do nothing? EVEN IF IT WAS ONLY A SUSPICION???? (don't forget you were encouraging everyone to "STOP BUSH" based on your suspicion....) And besides, what do you have to worry about if you are not a terrorist?

  How weird is this????

  Hi to all! I've been busy lately, so I've not been able to post... BUT I had to share this with you all and get your imput.....

  Ok so yesterday I was getting my nails done(yes I'm one of those girls!!) and my cell phone rings, it's one of my ex jw friends Lisa... she's calling to see if I'll go to a "Chip n Dales" show with her in a couple of weeks. So I finish the call and proceed to tell one of the girls in the shop(I've been going there for over 4 years so I know them pretty well....) what Lisa called about. The girl that was sitting next to me got this "disgusted" look on her face... didn't think much about it til later in the conversation we somehow got on x-mas and she said that where she works they NEVER close on ANY holiday and that she works every holiday, well after we BOTH were like "oh that's not fair, blah blah blah" she proceeds to make a very SERIOUS point of telling us she doesn't celebrate christmas... OK so at this point I'm getting weirded out... I mean me and Lisa are going to an ex Jw MEETUP tomorrow night... So I tell myself maybe you're just freaking out, but at the same time I had "that feeling". So I ask her where she works, told her she looked familiar.... she says "Walgreens" and she's worked there for 5 years, the girl only looked to be about 21 or 22 at most.... so I'm like huh, could be..... so the topping on the cake.... This *young* girl leaves and I see her car... a 4 door Ford Taurus..... not a young persons call in my opinion...... So here's where I need your help..... was I freaking out for no reason or do ya think she was DUB???? I'm not obsessed with this, it just weirded me out cuz I'm going to a meetup this weekend, and I RARELY ever run into Dubs, and they NEVER come to my house...... Whatcha think???

Are you saying that we shouldn't care, about our ENTIRE world... not just the land that we live in?

  3.You may be right, this war isn't JUST about helping the people of Iraq, it's about ridding the world of a presence that is WAY worse than Hitler or Stahlin EVER was... or do you think he's not threat to the entire world?

  perhaps it is YOU that needs to think outside the box. The television box. You have gladly bought into the US government propaganda that our government cares about these people

  You are pretty presumptuous to ASSUME that I take my viewpoints from TV only. I have learned that the news and media have their own agenda, that's obvious by their statements and what they show... I'm not so nieve to think that these "people" reporting are not going to in some way interpret the news into their own viewpoints... Some are better than others, but they all have ratings to achieve, and will report based on their viewers likes and dislikes... As far as my opinions, they are gathered based on HISTORY... I learned a lot from History class, the discussions, the research. I did reports and essays, I listened to veterans who spoke about what they did during major world wars... I haven't bought into any government propaganda, I take things on face value. IF George Bush says that he is doing this for all of mankind, I'll believe him until I see otherwise... You can't punish him for the mistakes of his father or other leaders... He has kids, he wants his children to be able to have the same freedoms that they have now, in the future, and that DOES include our children, as well as the children in other countries.

  And what liberties are those? What has changed about your daily activities since this all began? Do you have warplanes flying over your house at all hours of the day or night? Do you have a shortage of necessities, such as food or water? Please enlighten me as to your hardships....

  Many of us are ready to take to the streets. Can we count on you to join us so that your children will not be dealing with dictators like Saddam?

  You want to take to the streets to do what? What our troops are already trying to do, protect our liberties and freedoms? Yes you can count on me, I already support our troops and pray that this victory comes sooner than later...

  I am VERY proud to be an AMERICAN. I wholeheartedly support our president in his decisions, and our troops on their missions...

  The bottom line is, WAR is a fact of life, it will always BE a FACT OF LIFE. No one likes war, but we have to defend ourselves against evil forces of the world.... Genocide effects everyone, be it now, or in the future.

  So tell me this.... what other solution do you have for our current world situation? Do you think we can win over Saddam and his regime by sending balloons and teddy bears?

  I was appalled by the post stating that "those kids probably deserved to be in prison".... THAT'S SICK and DEMENTED.... If you "PEACENIKS", knew anything about history, you'd know that Saddam has been killing for YEARS unrelentlessly.

  Think of this: You are roused in the middle of the night by the Militia, drug out in YOUR living room, with ALL of your children, and your wife... your 5 year old is taken by the head of the hair by the Militia, and YOU are asked whether you will JOIN the Militia or not... You answer NO, and then the Militia takes their fingers and pokes your 5 year olds EYES OUT??????? Better yet, you have a 18 month old little girl who is RAPED in front of you????

  Now tell me that we shouldn't have liberated these people.....

  You people have a problem with being SELFISH... you claim it's because you don't want to see innocent lives destroyed, yet they have been for years.

  YOU need to learn to think outside the "box", or in simplier terms your own NEIGHBORHOOD, CITY, STATE, and even COUNTRY.... because if we don't do something, then our children will be dealing with people like Saddam.

  Ashtika: I have dropped it. HOWEVER, I do not bow to people when they put pressure on me to admit some "wrong" that they believe I've committed. Obviously we don't agree on this issue. I'll agree to disagree.... Can you? If so, DO NOT post anything to my attention again, and ignore ANY of my future posts.... Can you handle that?

  Well I'm glad you guys got this straightened out....

  LONEWOLF: I don't really mind that you don't want to be my friend.... obviously you don't understand the meaning of true friends. My friend (Tink) has been through HELL in the last few months and it upset her to feel disrespected by someone on this board. There are a lot of things in this world that money can buy, but RESPECT is not one of them. Thanks to JW's everywhere I have learned that if you don't defend yourself and speak your mind, whether the majority agrees or not, SOMEONE else will do the thinking for you..... I can respect your view point, but I stand by what I said.... I didn't say what I did to be popular or make friends, I already have a ton who REALLY know me, so take that for what it's worth.

  CC & Tink: I love you guys and if there's anything I can do or my family, PLEASE let us know!!! Presley loves you guys and we do too!!!

  Just because I forgot yesterday....

  You people on here are so full of opinions on actions.

  The point I was trying to make is if you knew ALL of the circumstances you'd find that there are 2 sides to every story and you shouldn't accuse one of being a maniac, pshycho and whatever else you all said when you don't know ALL the sides of the story. I'm not saying you have to agree with Tink, but to be that quick to call names, without a thought about how it would hurt someone... I mean even Tatiana, apologized and said she wasn't trying to hurt someone, sounds like you guys could learn a lesson from her.

  Ashtika: I understand what you are saying, however let me ask you this question..... what was the first thing that Tatiana did wrong?? "Think".... I mean seriously, if she didn't know for sure, then as they say "better safe than sorry". I do agree it was a nice gesture, because not everyone here has a sweety, but she could have posted a thread for ALL to enjoy, male and female alike....

  I also want to point out that after reading thru a second time, I noticed that alot of you called Tink insecure, and make suggestions that CC may not have been faithful to her.... HONESTLY I don't care WHO you are talking about, accusations like that are hurtful.

  SIMON: correct me if I"m wrong, but isn't this board about healing????

  Again it goes back to those JW tendencies.... I'm not a bible beater, obviously, but the saying is true, why try to remove the splinter from someone elses eye when you have a rafter in your own eye.

  I feel like if you are going to send out V-day emails, and you KNOW the person you are sending is married or in a committed relationship, you should address it to BOTH persons whether you know both or not.... IMO it's a respect issue, respect for the other person's relationship. I feel like Tink had the right to feel slighted.... I know Tink personally, in fact last weekend when I was at her house I hugged her AND her husband goodbye, so I KNOW she is not an insanely jealous person... but the difference is I gave BOTH a hug..... get my point???

  Furthermore, I feel like a lot of people on this board tend to take sides BEFORE they get the whole story.... reminds me why I got sick of coming to this board and hearing all the arguing and bickering between people who come here who have a common thread..... I'm sure what happened between Tink and Tatiana, could have been resolved without all the name calling and bickering, and I really hope that all of you who called Tink names feel like a piece of shit and have already apologized to her... otherwise you are no better than those backstabbing, coniving JW's you all claim to be so different than.....

  Tatiana: I'm sure you had the best intentions, and meant no harm.... HOWEVER I do understand where Tink is coming from, where's mine at?? LOL just kidding
